Abdoulaye Doucouré M Everton
Available Sunday
Doucoure (foot) is training in full and available for Sunday's trip to West Ham.
Doucoure hasn't played since Mar. 4, so it's likely he'll be brought along slowly, as he's probably not fit enough to start at the moment. He could get a few minutes Sunday and if all goes well, he'll be an option to start May 13 against Villa.
2021-05-07 15:30
D. Rice M West Ham United
Back on grass, edging closer
Rice (knee) is "back on the grass and closing in on it and we'll try and get him back as soon as we can," according to manager David Moyes.
Rice is getting closer to a return, but this update didn't seem overly confident in him returning before the final week of the season. He's been out since the international break and even when ready to return, it's unlikely he'll be given an immediate start and full 90.
2021-05-07 15:30
N. Ferguson M Crystal Palace
Expected to train next week
Ferguson (knee) is expected to train with the team next week, according to manager Roy Hodgson. "Even he at the end of the season has managed to get fit, which is very positive - but particularly for him because it's been such a miserable 18 months for the young lad."
It's been a long season for Ferguson, but the good news is that he's edging closer to a return to the team and could see some minutes before the season is over, at least with the U23s. If that's the case, he'll at least have some minutes under him going into the offseason, which is somewhat of a positive.
2021-05-07 15:30
J. Tomkins D Crystal Palace
Ready for minutes again
Tomkins is ready to compete for minutes in the senior team after playing with the U23s earlier in the week, according to manager Roy Hodgson. "[Tomkins] was a major concern for us, because muscle injuries, even severe muscle injuries and cruciate ligament injuries, one's experienced those. But you don't experience - it's the first time in my career where I had a player suffer a major eye injury. It's delightful to see him recover and be able to play and luckily able to compete for a place in the last two weeks of the season."
Tomkins will battle for starts over the final few matches of the season, but it's hard to see him immediately making the XI. He's started just four matches this season, mostly because of injuries.
2021-05-07 15:30
W. Zaha F/M Crystal Palace
Should be fine for Saturday
Zaha (groin) was not mentioned by manager Roy Hodgson in Friday's press conference ahead of Saturday's match against Sheffield United.
It looks like Zaha had a full week of training unless Hodgson chose not to talk about the forward. He played through a groin issue last match and went the full 90, so it's expected he'll remain in that role in a more favorable matchup Saturday.
2021-05-07 15:30
J. McArthur M Crystal Palace
Could be option Saturday
McArthur returned to training last week and could be an option Saturday against Sheffield United after not being mentioned by Roy Hodgson in his latest press conference.
McArthur hasn't appeared since January, so even if he's ready to take part Saturday, it'll likely be from the bench. He was getting regular minutes in the first half of the season, but an injury derailed that and it allowed Jairo Riedewald to come into his central midfield role.
2021-05-07 15:30
W. Boly D Wolverhampton Wanderers
Will remain out Sunday
Boly (rest) is still battling fatigue following COVID-19, but he's expected to be ready next week, according to manager Nuno Espirito Santo. "We didn't know what was really happening but came to the diagnosis and felt more relaxed. We are aware that he needs a couple days more to get back to total fitness."
It's at least a positive update on Boly, who was a surprise absence last week because of COVID-19 after-effects. He'll miss Sunday's game against Brighton but should be ready after that. Wolves have options without him, though there's a chance they continue with the four-man back line in his absence.
2021-05-07 15:30
João Moutinho M Wolverhampton Wanderers
Should be available Sunday
Moutinho (ankle) is feeling better and should be available for Sunday's match against Brighton, according to manager Nuno Espirito Santo. "He's better. He's training totally with the group, we have one session more to go on Saturday, but he's much better, he's improved from his injury, so is going to be available."
Moutinho has missed the last two matches with an ankle issue, but it looks to be minor. Given that absence, he may not be ready to start Sunday and after their latest win, there's a chance both Vitinha and Owen Otasowie are in the XI against Brighton.
2021-05-07 15:30
R. Jiménez F Wolverhampton Wanderers
Set to see specialist
Jimenez (head) is "totally fit" and is set to see a specialist May 18 to determine his status going forward, according to manager Nuno Espirito Santo. "Until then, he's working, he's totally fit, we still have precautions on him heading the ball and contact, but the 18th will be an important day for us to move forward and make the right decisions."
Jimenez has a chance to appear on the bench in the final match of the season but only if the visit with the specialist goes well. It's a good sign for him going forward and the hope is that he can steadily improve over the summer, allowing for him to be full go for the 2021/22 campaign.
2021-05-07 15:30
Lucas Rodrigues Moura da Silva F/M Tottenham Hotspur
Ready to start again
Lucas has trained all week after staying on the bench in the 4-0 win against Sheffield United, according to interim manager Ryan Mason. "Lucas took a knock in the Carabao Cup Final and it needed a few days to settle down."
Lucas could make an immediate return to the starting XI Saturday, though after Dele Alli played well last week, there's a chance those two swap starts the rest of the way. While Lucas has been a regular the last couple months, he hasn't scored since February, limiting his upside compared to teammates like Gareth Bale.
2021-05-07 15:30
Ben Davies D Tottenham Hotspur
Remains out
Davies is still recovering from a calf issue and doesn't have a timeline to return, according to interim manager Ryan Mason. "It's just a case of day by day. There is improvement, it's just how quickly it improves. He's doing all he can to get back out there."
There's a chance Davies doesn't play again this season, though after Saturday's trip to Leeds, he'll have more than a week to get better. If he doesn't train next week, it'll be a long shot for him to feature again, though Spurs have been fine without him, as both Serge Aurier and Sergio Reguilon have been healthy.
2021-05-07 15:30
T. Ndombèlé M Tottenham Hotspur
Good to go
Ndombele is expected to return to the starting XI Saturday against Leeds after staying on the bench last match, according to manager Ryan Mason. "Tanguy had a muscle problem, and they only trained the day before the (Sheffield United) game. They've trained fully this week."
Ndombele should return to his usual role Saturday, though that doesn't mean much for fantasy. In addition to fighting Giovani Lo Celso for playing time, Ndombele is rarely involved in the attack and doesn't have a shot on target since Feb. 13.
2021-05-07 15:30
Jack O'Connell D Sheffield United
Unlikely to return this season
O'Connell is improving, but he's unlikely to feature again this season because of a knee injury, according to interim manager Paul Heckingbottom.
O'Connell started the first two matches of the season and hasn't played since because of a knee injury. While he doesn't need further surgery, there's no reason to bring him back too soon, as he'll work on getting back his health and fitness ahead of next season.
2021-05-07 15:30
DeAndre Jordan C Brooklyn Nets
Out of starting lineup
Jordan is not in the starting five for Thursday's game against the Mavericks, Billy Reinhardt of NetsDaily.com reports.
Jordan will be replaced by Blake Griffin in the starting rotation Thursday. The veteran has regularly bumped between the bench and starting five all season.
2021-05-07 15:30
Jaylen Brown F Boston Celtics
Officially out Friday
Brown (ankle) is ruled out for Friday's game against the Bulls.
Brown will miss Friday's game while recovering from a right ankle sprain. Celtics general manager Danny Ainge recently hinted that he could return as early as Sunday's contest against Miami. In any case, Evan Fournier should start at small forward as long as Brown remains sidelined.
2021-05-07 15:30
Mike Conley G Utah Jazz
Out again Friday
Conley (hamstring) will not play Friday against the Nuggets, Eric Walden of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
This will be the sixth straight absence for Conley, and he'll likely run that total up to seven with the Jazz playing on a back-to-back Saturday against Houston. The general belief is that Utah is simply being cautious with the veteran point guard, but with only a handful of regular season games remaining, it's at least mildly concerning that Conley continues to miss time.
2021-05-07 15:30
Juwan Morgan F Utah Jazz
Won't play Friday
Morgan (heel) is out for Friday's game against the Nuggets.
Morgan managed to suit up for four of Utah's last five games, but he'll remain sidelined for Friday's contest. He could make a return Saturday versus the Rockets.
2021-05-07 15:30
Will Barton F Denver Nuggets
Set for another absence
Barton (hamstring) is out for Friday's game against the Jazz, Harrison Wind of TheDNVR.com reports.
Barton will log his eighth consecutive absence Friday. His next chance to play will come Saturday versus the Nets, but the Nuggets haven't offered any real reason for optimism that Barton will retake the court then.
2021-05-07 15:30
Trey Lyles F San Antonio Spurs
Out again Friday
Lyles (ankle) is out for Friday's game against the Kings, Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Lyles hasn't suited up since late March due to a lingering ankle sprain. He remains out indefinitely.
2021-05-07 15:30
Luguentz Dort G Oklahoma City Thunder
Dubbed game-time decision
Dort (hip) is a game-time decision for Thursday's contest against the Warriors, Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman reports.
Dort's status may not be revealed until after he goes through pre-game warmups Thursday. He's coming off back-to-back 10-point sessions, but it appears that his hip injury has his availability versus Golden State in legitimate jeopardy.
